What can we help you with?

We use positive, reward-based training – lots of treats, praise, and fun! It’s all about
building trust with your dog and making learning enjoyable.

Absolutely! We hold a Certificate III in Dog Training & Behaviour (NDTF) and a
Diploma in Canine Behaviour (Canine Principles), along with many other certifications.
Plus, we’re always learning more to make sure you and your dog get the best guidance
possible.

Yes! We welcome puppies through to seniors, of all breeds. Every dog is unique, and our
training is tailored to suit their personality and needs.

Unfortunately, bitches in season cannot attend our classes. This keeps the environment
comfortable for everyone. Reach out if you need advice on what to do while waiting.

  • Puppies: Must have had their first vaccination at least one week before class.
  • Other dogs: Must be fully vaccinated. This keeps all dogs safe while learning and socialising together.
We offer in-home lessons, on-site training at Rosevears, and virtual consultations for those who can’t attend in person.
We do everything we can to make training safe and enjoyable for everyone. Our venue is secure, and our classes are carefully managed. That said, dogs are living, breathing individuals and training always carries some level of risk. By joining our classes, you agree that participation is at your own risk and that you always remain responsible for your dog.
Sometimes we like to capture special training moments for our website and social media. If you’d rather you or your dog not be included, just let us know before your first session — no problem at all.

We’re sorry, but we can’t offer catchups or refunds for missed classes. Attending each
lesson consistently really helps your dog get the most out of training.

Once you’ve enrolled in a course, your spot is reserved just for you and your dog. Because of this, if you miss a lesson, we can’t offer refunds or make-up classes. The only exception is if we can fill your spot before the course starts.

Yes, but we do ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. This gives us enough time to offer your slot to someone else. Cancellations made with less only 24 hours’ notice will still be charged.

What can we help you with?

We accept puppies from 8 weeks providing they have had at least their first vaccination one week prior to attending our classes.

No, waiting until all vaccinations are complete can miss the most important socialisation period. Puppies have a critical learning window between 3–16 weeks where they are most receptive to new experiences. During this time, positive exposure to people, dogs, sights, sounds, and environments helps prevent future fear and behaviour problems.

Yes, puppies are more vulnerable until their vaccination course is complete, which is why you need to balance socialisation with safety. The goal is to give your puppy a variety of positive experiences without unnecessary exposure to high-risk environments.

  • Organise playdates with healthy, vaccinated dogs belonging to friends or family.
Attend reputable puppy classes run by trainers who check vaccination records and maintain clean facilities.
  • Carry your puppy (in your arms or a pram) around shops, cafes, and busy streets so they can safely see and hear the world.
  • Expose them to everyday experiences at home – vacuum cleaners, visitors, different surfaces, car rides, gentle handling, etc.
  • Avoid unknown dogs and high-traffic dog areas (like off-leash parks or nature strips) until your vet gives the all-clear.

Proper early socialisation reduces the risk of future fear, anxiety, and aggression. A well-socialised puppy is more confident, easier to train, and better able to cope with everyday life. Balancing veterinary advice and controlled exposure ensures your puppy stays healthy and develops into a happy, well-adjusted dog.
